Leaders in stem cell technology innovation

Our mission is grounded on the scientific and translational achievements of its founders. This has combined their expertise in basic and applied developmental life sciences with commercialisation. Together they founded Roslin Cells Ltd, establishing Scotland´s advanced stem cell manufacturing capacity. This launched other stem cell technology companies and initiatives including Roslin Cellab and Censo Biotechnologies (now Axol Bioscience), Roslin Cell Therapy, and the European Bank for Induced Stem Cells. These yielded clinical grade and standardised human pluripotent stem cell lines and practices now used in current state of the art discovery and for advanced therapies.

Non-executive Chairman

Over 25 years experience establishing & building conmpanies in life science and technology sectors for stem cell manufacturing, discovery and therapy.

Rooted in basic & applied developmental biology

Our expertise is rooted in the depth & breadth of founders’ experience across academic, industrial and clinical fields in public and private sectors. This has spanned egg and embryogenesis across species, animal cloning, neuroscience and stem cell science and manufacturing. Working with interdisciplinary collaborators this has contributed to understanding of intra and inter cellular signalling and epigenetic mechanisms controlling pluripotent stem cell identity, and development of technologies to grow and purify cells, and charactise cell susceptability to infectious prions. This has contributed to defining and applying international and health authority standards to manfuacture reliable and quality assured cells actively being use for discovery and therapies.
